The Lazer Wasp Air Tri Aero Helmet is what happens when the Wasp is crossed with the Tardiz 2. you get the shield and basic shape of the Wasp, with a truncated tail, and an Aquaport for dousing your head.
As with all their helmets, Lazer starts with In-Mold construction. Cover the EPS foam with a microshell. And then on the inside, they add their ATS, Advanced Turnfit System, to wrap around your head with a firm grip but minimal tension.
The leading edge of the Wasp Air Tri features the Wasp shield. It’s oversized for good field of vision, and you can adjust the position to allow it to reveal two vents, which flow air through the helmet to the exhaust port.
The top features the Aquaport, which is a spring-loaded port that you can push down with your water bottle to douse your head.
The tail is shorter, a good thing for those who don’t have perfect form and are inclined to move their head around. There’s an accessory cowl/tail that can be snapped on to the back of the helmet to improve aerodynamics.
Even with all these features, the Wasp is relatively light for a full-on aero lid at 375g. It passes CE, CPSC, and AS standards. In addition to the aero cowl, you can also install Lazer’s accessory Inclination Sensor, which helps you keep your head still and aero. Their LifeBEAM heart rate transmitter, which sends your heart rate from your head to your computer, can also be installed.
The Lazer Wasp Aero Tri Helmet bridges the gap between two distinct time trial shapes.
